Christmas - Now

At this moment I am listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach in front of the beach house we rented for the weekend at Dana Point. The sky is starting to blush lavender and pink, and it is so peaceful and beautiful here.

I am a few days late posting about Rhys as he turned 10 months a few days ago! He is gaining confidence in his walking abilities. He loves Mommy and Daddy and hates when we are out of his sight even for a second. He climbs on Everything and it makes his day when he is able to speed climb up the stairs with Mommy right behind him. He enjoys 'helping' me stretch before working out and will sidle over in front of my face and give me big slobbery kisses. Daddy is still the favorite and they are inseparable whenever Lewis is home. Rhys definitely has his own language and likes to yell loudly at people when we go to the store. He asks questions, voices dissent and tells jokes. He loves trying to eat rocks and eating blueberries. We love our happy little guy!

I was thinking this morning how amazing it is that Lewis loves his job so much. How many people are blessed with being able to provide for their family in a way that is challenging and enjoyable for them? If he has to be away from us at all during the day, I am glad that he enjoys what he does!

Lewis is a rockstar dad. Rhys idolizes him and mimics whatever he does! He is also a rockstar husband. He appreciates me and always makes time to take over with Rhys in the evening so that I can relax a little bit. I am so lucky that God threw us in each others paths and that now I have my partner in crime not just for the rest of this life, but for the rest of eternity.

Merry Christmas!

We are so happy to get to celebrate Rhys' first Christmas this year!

It has been such an amazing year. In March we were blessed with Rhys. We got to spend the summer in Utah before moving to Austin, Texas. Lewis sold his company, we bought our first house! We have traveled to New York, Vancouver, and Europe.

We are excited to go back to Utah to celebrate with our families in a few weeks!

Nine months

Rhys is Nine months old! I can't believe it..

He took his first tentative step two days ago. He has two bottom teeth that make his smile super adorable! He is getting better at eating food and anything fruity is his favorite. His favorite game to play is hide and seek, where he chases me around the kitchen island while I hide around the corners. He thinks its hilarious when I stretch and do ground exercises and climbs up on me when I am doing planks. Since we moved to Austin we have started going to an exercise class called Stroller Striders where everyone brings their kids in the stroller and we exercise together. He hasn't quite decided how he feels about it. He sits there with a serious look on his face the whole time. He is not quite old enough to join in playing with the other kids after the class, but maybe soon!

Rhys has made a few baby friends already. We spent Thanksgiving with our new friends Kara and Justin and their son who is around 15 months old. They had a blast playing together and have hung out a few times since then. I am always so nervous when he plays with kids because I don't know what he is going to do! One time he stood up on the couch and tackled Dez as he was running by.

Rhys has learned to clap and thinks it is so funny! Right now he is going through a phase where if Lewis is in the house at all Rhys won't give me the time of day. The boy loves his daddy!

Big kisses!
